Tobey Skatepark! MEMPHIS,TENNESSEE! We Ready!

 Excited is the only word I really can think of when I drive by Tobey Skatepark here in Memphis,Tn, it's really been like I said before a long time coming for us skateboarders and bmxers as a whole to have somewhere to go for great edits, practicing, or maybe just some free skate time.

 

 It took time and alot of effort form alot of great people around the city of Memphis to get this wonderful skatepark completed. Two thumbs up for the Mayor of Memphis AC Wharton, Skatelife Memphis, and the many others who had there hands in on this project.

Air Jordan 1 KO Premium

The KO Premium featuring tonal colorways combined with a classic trim profile and a red patch accent on the tongue, the shoe emits a polished eminence.  A custom Jordan insignia with the addition of the letters “KO” adorns the sneaker also, which is rounded out by a crosshatching pattern on the upper-construction of the shoe as well as the tongue. Each of the three colorways are set to release on November 12 for $130.

 Jordan is definitely one my favorite brands, it just seems like they always know what the consumer is looking for and they've come along way believe me. I thought the Jordan brand would only be a basketball shoe for the long haul, but over time I've learned the Jordan brand is not only in conversation with basketball, but also with stlye. Burnside skatepark in Portlant,Ore, just celebrated it's 20th anniversary on Halloween weekend with alot of "Don't Blink" stunts and plenty of maximum amp-cranking action.

This skatepark reminds me of my old neighborhood growing up in South Memphis,TN, where there was always a park built under a bridge, but the location and creative bulid of Burnside skatepark is a sight for sore eyes for not only the skater but also your normal bypasser.

One thing I do know that is planned for the next few months is no sleep, with our skateboard event ( Yet to be named) proposal near completion for Tobey Skatepark in Memphis,Tn, hot new designs, new team members, more edits ( Both BMX and Skateboard), and not to mention the debut of sergiokosco.com, we're expecting to make a serious push for the top spot in our market. Here are a few designs we were gonna release this summer, but the creator of the design left the brand so out of respect for the guy we at SergioKosco choose not to print... I guess this is one of those times were you ask yourself what if....

Recently named President of the brand Cory Burks has definitely put in alot of ground work getting SergioKosco ready for a exciting year, we will be heading to Atlanta to meet with our clothing manufacturer in December to make some final decision on some new threads SergioKosco is looking to release around fall 2012. When I first became aware of the brand A Bathing Ape, well first to be honest I think of the song ( I Got Me Sum Bathing Apes!) by Soulja Boy when he was just starting out the gate. So now after some of my own research on the brand which is a Japanese clothing company founded by Nigo in 1993, and still going strong with his new brand HUMAN MADE. I have plenty of pics of his HUMAN MADE 2011 Fall/Winter Lookbook, which is pretty HOT, but my only problem is why in the hell didn't NIGO hire a model? Lol, I just can't believe this guy showed out like this with a Exclusive Human Made photoshoot featuring NIGO,lol.

Recently returning from the Grands — at Derby City BMX track at EP "Tom" Sawyer Park and the Louisville Skatepark in Kentucky, DC is a man that's willing to make the trip to Blaze the trails wherever or whenever. I mean the guy makes most trips bike on bike,lol, the first thing he told me was it's all about the speed.

With DC on board at Sergio Kosco I believe that puts the Brand in "Blackout Mode." The guy is stright up fearless on the bike, but Ohh yes he takes his crashes for more on that tune in to his facebook page... SERGIO KOSCO- SUMMER- 2012.

$1 million bonus for the skater who wins four Maloof Money Cup events in a row

The Maloof Money Cup is one of the most interesting events on the skateboarding calendar this year. For the $1,000,000 bonus prize you must win 4 MMC events in a row, that's alot of bumps and bruises, but for a cool million I'd do more than consider taking things to the next level for a payday like that.

I have family in D.C. so next year I will be in Washington to witness this action packed event. Most skaters that participate in Maloof Money Cup still have a chance to will that cool million, here's a glimpse of a round.

Lil'Wayne Takes A Hit While Skateboarding

The celebrity news site TMZ first reported that Lil Wayne was rushed to the hospital after sustaining a wound above his left eye while skating at a skateboard park in St. Louis, Mo. Sunday night. Wayne, the iconic rapper has been known to skateboard on occasion and was even granted a late night private skate session at the Skatepark of Tampa (home to the highly regarded annual Tampa Pro and Tampa Am contests earlier this month).
Wayne, the Grammy Award winning artist, had nine stitches put in after the fall and tweeted about it:

"The Lou was good but I busted my f---in head at the sk8park ! 9stitches! Gnarly gash over my left eye!"

X Games 17... The Course Is Sick!!

X Games 17 is sure to be action packed, with all the big name bmx and skateboard stars hungry for that medal.
Chase hawk quoted to ESPN's Colin Bane saying.

"This is the perfect course for me -- I'm already seeing numerous transfer lines," Hawk says. "You just have to really be on it, because as soon as you land you're right face up to the next turn. There's no margin for error."

Rune Glifberg, the 2008 and 2009 Skateboard Park champ, says the course is going to be one of the most difficult and challenging courses he's ever seen at X Games. I'm really looking foward to the outcome of the X Games 17.. Stay tune for our post X Games 17 blog..

I met Taj Mihelich at Odessey"s Texas Toast jam in Austin,TX, this past May for the first time. I was just looking to sponser my first event for Sergio Kosco, I e-mailed alot of other earlier events and was turned down either because my brand wasn't well known or they were so-called book-up. Taj was the first person to e-mail me back and he told me, we would love to have you apart of the Texas Toast Jam (Ohh Yeah!), and it went great. Here is a video on how well that event went.

NYJAH HUSTON... Need I say more.

I watched Nyjah Huston from beginning to end at the Street League 2011 in Glendale,AZ,on ESPN2. Understand this guy only 16 years old is killing the skateboard game, connecting on tricks any regular skateboarder would no doubt crash. Checkout a few videos of the skateboarding phenomenon that has earned a record $450,000 in first place contest winnings from Street League in the past three months alone.

Former Skateboard Freestyle Champ puts Dream Home idea in works, Wake and Skate. (Must See)

Etnies CEO and owner Pierre-Andre Senizergues did an awesome job if I must say in building a skater's dream home prototype. He added pretty much every thing a skater could ever need and from what I hear he's looking too add more. Along with the help of his long-time skate buddy, artist Gil Le Bon Delaponte, Senizergues built a full-scale, 600-square-foot version of his original skate house, and this prototype (dubbed the PAS House, after the skateboarder's initials) is now on display through August 7 at La Gaite Lyrique in Paris. (In the picture below)
